One more Possessed Marine completed for the squad, which now has two completed models! At this rate I'll have the squad nicely finished in time for Easter...
More pictures below as well as a quick group shot of the two completed models for the squad (the Champion and this guy).
Enjoy and thanks for looking, hopefully I will be back with further painting updates in the not-too-distant future!

More Pink Marines... Possessed Chaos Space Marine
This is the first tester model I have done for a 5 man squad of Possessed marines I am aiming to get done before Christmas.
Once the base layers had been laid down it didn't take too long to get the entire marine complete. Very pink and he fits in well with the Helbrute I painted earlier in the year.
More pictures below of this model and hopefully more pictures of the rest of the squad to come in the next couple of weeks!
Thanks for looking and, as always, comments are welcome.

A Troll With a Bazooka... It's Captain Gunnbjorn!
It has been a while since I have painted any Trolls for my Hordes Trollblood army so, following this guy being given to me for my birthday, I decided to get cracking on him.
The model in question is Captain Gunnbjorn, a warlock for the Trollbloods and, more importantly, the owner of a great big bazooka. Sheer insanity, but it looks awesome!
Anyway, not a lot else to say, so please enjoy the remaining couple of photos below and, if you like the look of the trolls, I will be back with more Trollbloods in the next week or so!
Thanks for looking and if you have any comments I would love to hear them!

Back After a Short Break... With a Chaos Lord!
Finally I have got round to getting some painting done and this week should see a few new models being put up as I get them completed. Woo!
First up is a Chaos Lord that I bought off Ebay a fair while back. It took me a year or so to notice, but the original models right arm has been replaced by the right arm from the Abaddon model, and I think it looks pretty awesome.
Lets not worry about the WYSIWYG elements of the model (plasma pistol, twin-linked boltguns and lightning claw) as I am sure a Chaos Lord could just pick any damn weaponry he (or she) pleases.
Anyway, couple more pictures below for you to have a look through. As always any thoughts, comments or criticisms welcomed! It's good to be back!

Project Gotham... Part 2
The second and probably final post for a while of a few of the inhabitants of Gotham City that I picked up recently.
The models in the pictures are Batman, Joker and some of his henchmen. All were enjoyable models to paint but, with a massive backlog of 40k stuff to paint and a baby soon to take over my world, it will be a long time till I get painting anyone else from the Batman universe.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures, comment if you want and hopefully I will see you back here in the future!

Project Gotham... Part 1
As a side project to painting my mountain of 40k models, I have started on the Batman models from Knight Models which is largely based around the Batman Arkham Asylum/City computer games.
Awesome, simple little models and quite a change from power armour. A change is as good as a rest (ignore the last two months of hibernation and my avoidance of doing much in the way of painting), so this little change should spur me on... hopefully...
Also coming up, once the crew above is finished, is this pair of miscreants -
Really looking forward to painting them as well, especially the Joker. Thanks for looking folks and hopefully I will see you again shortly with some completed models.

Fulgrim... Work in Progress
The update for today is the slight progress I have been making on the model for Fulgrim, the Primarch of the Emperor's Children.
A fantastic model with plenty of detail, I am really enjoying working on him. I think I am about 40% through painting Fulgrim himself so far, with his base hardly started, it will probably be around a week at least until he is fully complete.
A couple more progress photos can be seen below, and I will add a few more later on in the week once I have put some more paint down on him.
Thanks for looking, any comments very much appreciated!

The Grandfather of 40k Cosmetic Surgery... Fabius Bile
Starting to make some progress again on painting the huge pile of unpainted models I have lying around. First up is Fabius Bile, the best known apothecary of the 40k universe.
I've never used him in a game of 40k, yet, but the model itself was pretty straightforward to paint and quickly finished off.
So, without further ado, please enjoy the remaining pictures below and thanks for looking!

Keeper of Secrets Progress
The updates on the blog have pretty much disappeared through August, so I am going to make every effort of the next couple of months to keep the updates flowing, starting with this quick update on the Keeper of Secrets I was starting to put together.
Following some suggestions on the blog, I have clipped off the little claws of the tail section and that is, unfortunately, as far as I have gotten with the Daemon. Next up is fixing on his arms/head - arms from the Daemon Prince box and the head from the original Keeper of Secrets.
I have also included a couple of pictures of the KoS that I am building next to the current model for the Greater Daemon, and then a shot of both next to a Daemon Prince - who'd have thought a Daemon Prince and the Greater Daemon of Slaanesh would be identical in height?
As always, all comments very much appreciated and all suggestions welcome. Thanks for looking!

The Dark Knight and Friends
Every once in a while I fancy a change from painting Space Marines. Sometimes it takes the form of another 40k army (Daemons/Dark Eldar) and sometimes it falls to another gaming system (Hordes - Trollbloods). This time it has fallen to another gaming system to provide the models - Knight Models and their Batman models.
I am looking forward to painting the Batman (in between doing Fulgrim as well), and a couple of his other friends in the form of the Joker and associated miscreants.
I am not too sure just yet how many of the Batman characters I will obtain and paint, but I am looking forward to the different challenge of painting them as opposed to power armour.
Anybody else out there know of anyone who plays the Batman miniature game/has a good collection of the models and photos of them on the internet? Would be interesting to see how other people find them.
One more photo of the Joker and his thugs, although it may be a little blurry. Thanks for looking!

Fulgrim
Having recently been given the Forgeworld sculpt of Fulgrim as a present (thanks again Ian), I have cleared everything from my schedule to begin working on him.
As you may have noticed, there hasn't been an update on the blog for a while. This is mainly down to it being far too warm to sit in my little man cave painting away. Now the summer is cooling down and I have this awesome model in my hands, the autumn period looks like it will be full of various painting projects that I have lined up, this being the first.
The sculpt itself is absolutely brilliant, so much detail and relatively intuitive to put together. For the sake of painting the model I am planning on leaving the Primarch detached from his base until both are complete before fixing them together.
Only got a couple of shots of this guy so far, as there isn't too much to see on the resin model, but more pictures will follow when the paint starts flowing. So until then, here are the other two pictures I have of him and the base. Thanks for looking!

Build-Your-Own Chaos Daemons
Monstrous creatures need to huge, terrifying and, well, monstrous. With that particular design brief in my mind I set out to create something so horrendous it could only have come from the Warp. This my friends, is the beginning of my vision for what a Keeper of Secrets, the Greater Daemon of Slaanesh, may indeed look like.
Once the model is made I will show you how it compares in size to the current Keeper of Secrets (available from all good Games Workshop stores). To give you an idea though, the current model reaches up to as high as this guys waist.
The first picture here shows the model in the early stages before I went a bit crazy adding on several claws.
Once all the arms have been added on (two more pairs on the main body, one arm holding a sword and three arms with open hands) all that is left is fixing a head to the monster.
The head in question is one left over from the Keeper of Secrets box. I am a little unsure as to whether it is a little bit too small, given the size of the body, or whether it will actually look ok. I am tempted to just put it all together and see what the end result is before making any decision.
I am also starting to question whether this demi-god of the Chaos worlds really needs 6 pairs of arms. Or maybe he/she/it does?
As the other update for this post is the Herald of Slaanesh I have also built. In giving it a tail, it is supposed to represent it having a steed to ride in to battle so that it can join with my Seeker squad when necessary.
Pictures are below, thanks for looking and hope to see you dropping by again!

WIP Chaos Lord... A Little Bit More
Just a quick update today on the Chaos Lord in terminator armour that I started a few weeks back.
I have added in a greenstuff cloak and mounted him on his base.
The front spike on his right hand side is also incredibly fragile, so unless someone has a suggestion on how I can strengthen it, I may have to snap it off and make it look like battle damage.
Outside of that, not a lot else to say more about this chap, so enjoy the remaining photos and thanks for looking!

Winner of a Lictor 2013... Again!
We've waited a month and now it is time to reveal who is (hopefully) going to be receiving this painted model of a Tyranid Lictor.
First of all I would like to explain how the draw was made. To start with I assigned everyone a number (1-16) so, theoretically, for all you maths geeks out there everyone has a 1 in 16 chance of winning. Then I went to this online random number generator and set the limits as 1 and 16. Simple step next - click on the enter button to generate the number.... 9.
So, who is number 9? Number 9 is the name Markus Webber, so congratulations Markus, the Lictor is all yours. If you can drop me an email I can then arrange for sending him over to you, where ever you may be!
I really wish I had 16 Lictors to send as I appreciate all of you commenting and joining. With that in mind, I will try to hold similar competitions in a few months time with the chance to win a different individual model. So until then, please keep visiting the blog!

Custom Built Maulerfiend Complete
You have all seen and heard about the flying hell chicken of Chaos. Now I give you all the tentacled murderous crab-turtle of Chaos - my own version of the Maulerfiend made from the bits from a few kits that I had lying around.
Looking forward to giving him a run out with my Chaos army now, I have only ever used the Forgefiend and never his Mauler brother.
Here are the rest of the pictures for you all to have a look over, thanks for looking!
