Marvel Crisis Protocol - Valkyrie

The last MCP character I have painted is Valkyrie. I didn't fancy the paint scheme shown on the box, so went more toward the scheme from the films with a little embellishment.

I'm pleased with the skin tones and face on this model, so hopefully starting to move that in the right direction.

Space Wolves Primaris Captain (WGBL)

Last model before Christmas, this is my Primaris Captain for my Space Wolves (counts as Wolf Guard Battle Leader). Got the model from the Warhammer 40k: Conquest collection that ran for the last couple of years.

The model was originally a distinct Ultramarine, so all that iconography has been cleaned off and a few Wolf items have been added on.

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Thor

The God of Thunder, Thor, is the next model completed in my MCP collection. A bit more variation on the colours when compared to Black Panther previously, with the highlighting on the black parts a bit more recognisable this time around.

I am pleased with Thor's face on this model as well, looks a lot better than my previous MCP character faces, although I think the lips could do with a slightly darker/redder look to them to make them stand out from the rest of the skin tone of the face.

Space Wolves - Primaris Lieutenant (A.K.A. Haldor Icepelt)

Another character for the ranks of my Space Wolves, this time round being the Wolf Guard model from the, formerly, Tooth and Claw boxset and presently the Start Collecting Space Wolves boxset.

No mods on this chap, just a straight up paintjob. Even included eyebrows on this one, which is something I seemingly miss on most of my faces.

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Black Panther

The king of Wakanda, Black Panther, is the latest model I have completed from the MCP universe, to go alongside Killmonger from last week.

All black models are, apparently, difficult to show up the details on, but you get the idea (hopefully!).

Work in Progress - Base for the Repulsor

Having looked back over my recent blog updates I am going to look at two areas, initially, to improve - bases and faces. With the Repulsor that I am putting together for my Space Wolves I have the perfect opportunity to try out a few things and see if it all works together. Progress with the tank itself is nearing completion, so I started work on putting together the base.

In the photo above the rock formations to the south and west of the base are bits of cork board piled up, painted over with watered-down PVA glue prior to base coating with black primer. The formation to the east is a pile of grit and slate glued down with the PVA glue again.

The rocks were then painted Eshin Grey, before dry brushing with Mechanicus Standard Grey, Dawnstone and finally Administratum Grey. Nuln Oil was used in the recesses of the rocks

The rest of the base was covered with Astrogranite Debris, dry brushed with Administratum Grey and then washed over with Athonian Camoshade.

With the paint dry, I then added the vegetation and the Valhallan Blizzard.

I had an unbuilt Ulrik model lying around and then a Primaris Apothocary model came in to my possession and an idea instantly sprung to mind - the old Wolf Priest was going to get Primarised.

Space Wolves Primaris Lieutenant in Phobos Armour

Another converted Primaris Space Marine to join my Wolves, this time the Lieutenant in Phobos armour. Additions to the original model are the head switch to the wolf mask, changing his combat knife for an axe, shoulder pad swap and the extra wolf cloak on this guys back. 

Very dynamic model and really enjoyed painting him up.

Hopefully one day I will get to give these Primaris guys a run out and see how they play in 9th.

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Venom

The latest offering I have from the MCP universe is the symbiote Venom. Only a few colours on this one, but from the looks of the photos I was a bit messy on the white sections on his chest / back.

Space Wolves Primaris Rune Priest

This week (and a day late...) is another Primaris Rune Priest for my Wolves, this time the original version modified and wolfed up, ready for action. 

Simple mods included a shoulder pad swap, green stuff fur on the cloak, wolf tail and talisman.

Marvel Crisis Protocol - M.O.D.O.K

I think I finally found the size of face I need to get good results on with this one. MODOK, the floating head (in the main), has one giant face and the results are certainly a lot better than on the smaller models.

Space Wolves Primaris Phobos Rune Priest

Back to Space Wolves this week and on to individual characters for a little while. This time out is the Primaris Rune Priest (Librarian) in Phobos armour.

Slight conversion on here, which is mainly just a shoulder pad exchange and adding a wolf tail and icon to the model, all of which are fairly straightforward.
