Introducing a New Painter

Over the last six years my son has seen me build and paint many models and recently asked if he could paint up some models 'to put on the internet'. So here is the very first model (and probably one of his most favourite models) - a terminator with thunder hammer and storm shield.

Not bad for a six year old, expect to see a few more as he is already sat here trying to choose the next model he wants to show off!

Thanks for looking.

Space Wolves Reivers

5 man Reiver squad to add to my completed Space Wolves, armed with Grapnel Launchers and Combat Knives.

I do like the solid yellow colour on these models, shading could do with being a little bit more refined though. The face on the Sergeant isn't too bad either even if his eyes are a touch out.

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Black Widow

Getting through the starter box for Marvel Crisis Protocol, this week Black Widow is up.

Simple and enjoyable model to paint. I feel that the face could have been done better (anyone noticing a theme at the moment, maybe something to investigate further and work on?).

Thanks for looking.

Work in Progress - Space Wolves Repulsor

Just a quick progress update on my Wolves Repulsor. The front half of the tank is now fully based, some details completed, but still needs shading and highlights added.

I find with the bigger models, to save myself from losing the enthusiasm to paint, I break it up in to sections, focus on those for a few sessions, then move on to a different model or two before returning.

I'm really pleased with the smooth, solid colour I've managed to get over a large areas on this model so far, so hopefully I can keep that up for the remaining model!

The back half and remaining highlighting/shading will be done once I've finished a couple of other models (MCP Valkyrie and a Ad Mech Sterylizor).

Thanks for looking.

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Ultron

Another visit to the Marvel universe, the supervillain and all-round evil robot Ultron.

No issues with the face on this one due to him being full metal from top to bottom with a few splashes of red in between.

Thanks for looking.

Space Wolves Incursors

This time around is my 5-man Incursor squad. The remaining 5 man squad from the box is built as Infiltrators (although I've never used either of them so have no idea of the pro's and con's of either).

A couple of errant brushstrokes with the washes on each of the models, with mediocre faces (which I need to start practicing more on).

Thanks for looking.

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Captain Marvel

Just the one model today from Marvel Crisis Protocol - Captain Marvel.

As seems to be a theme with these models, the base coat was a little too heavy so it loses some of the details, so in my opinion a mediocre paint job. Again the face could be better, so is an area to improve in.

Adeptus Mechanicus - Onager Dunecrawler

First up from my Adeptus Mechanicus army that is (very) slowly starting to come together is my solitary Onager Dunecrawler. My choice of colours for my Ad Mech will be explained at some point in time, but mainly I wanted a different colour scheme to the usual red. Plus these tie in with my Cadmus Imperial Knights (which I will get up in another post sometime soon).

Thanks for looking.

Marvel Crisis Protocol - Baron Zemo and Red Skull

This week I am putting up a couple of the bad guys from the Marvel Crisis Protocol miniatures game. Those of you familiar with the Marvel Universe will recognise two of Captain America's main villains in Red Skull and Baron Zemo.

Red Skull was a fun model to paint, given that he is just, primarily, black with a touch of red here and there.

The Baron was another enjoyable model to paint, although I feel his head area in general is a little messy.

Work In Progress - Space Wolves Repulsor

A quick update as I have finished the turret for my Space Wolves first Primaris Tank - the Repulsor.

The rest of the tank should be complete before Christmas (maybe, currently working on a couple of models before I get started on it). Anyway, couple more shots of the turret below:
