On Sunday evening I completed this little unit for my Trollbloods force, the Pyg Burrowers, who are, while a fair bit smaller than the other trolls in the faction, are just as nasty. Their slugger guns can punch a few holes through pretty much anything, which is always good to see!
Only disappointing thing about this unit is the repetition of certain poses within a relatively small squad, but that is easily lived with and it doesn't bother me too much.
Anyway, here are the rest of the pictures -

Dark Vengeance Chaos Chosen Marines... Part 1
Here we have the latest two models that I have completed from the Dark Vengeance box set, namely the Chaos Chosen Aspiring Champion and one standard Chosen Space Marine with a bolter.
As with all models from that box set, these models are highly detailed and will make excellent additions to the expanding size of my completed Emperor's Children force.
Please enjoy the rest of the pictures and I hope to have further painting updates during the week!

On the Painting Table... January
Back in my review of 2012 and looking forward to 2013 post I mentioned that I would be looking to put forward a monthly feature or two. Well, this is the first one and hopefully I can use it to track how much progress I am making on my targets for each month.
All current progress can still be found in the 'On the Painting Table' tab, which will also have links to each months post. All will become clear once we have gotten into full swing. Hopefully.
Anyway, looking forward to this month I will be completing the two Chaos Space Marines Chosen, shown above, in the next couple of days. Currently there is a little bit of tidying up to finish off, the champions head needs doing and the bases are requiring some last touches.
Once these two are finished I will be moving back toward my Trolls and completing my Pyg Burrower crew, which should then see the majority of my Trolls complete (for the moment anyway).
Once the Pygs are done it's back to those Chaos Chosen again and, once these two are done, just one more pair to do until all the Dark Vengeance Chaos Marines are finished.
The final model for the month, if I have time, is Calandra Truthsayer of the Trollbloods (notice much of a theme for the progress of the models?). Once she is done I will have only two more Troll models to paint, which could be one of my post-Christmas objectives completed relatively early in the year!
So, aiming quite high for this month, which could be interesting with real life stuff also coming up this month and my desire to play a few more games before the month is out.
Next months edition will look at what I aimed for and what I actually achieved, and what is up for a coat of paint through the month of February.
As always, thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read this blog. All comments welcome, so please feel free to post up anything you want to say as long as it relates to 40k or Hordes I'll be a happy man!

Circle of Orboros Wolves Master and Totem Bearer
I finished these two guys a couple of weeks back but, as I was giving them to a mate as a Christmas present, have refrained from putting them on the blog until he received them.
Well, now he has them so now I can unleash them on the here.
They are the Wolves Master and Totem Bearer for the Circle Orboros faction of Hordes. As enjoyable to paint as my Trolls, I am looking forward to pitching my force against the Circle more often through this year!
Anyway, here are a few more shots of the pair of them, please enjoy and feel free to comment if you want to.

Inquisitor Solomon Lok and Retinue
This is the project I have been working away at over Christmas, Solomon Lok and his retinue from Forgeworld, and now that I have given them to my mate (as a late Christmas present) I can post them up on the blog for you all to see.
A great little set to play around with, I am very happy with how Lok and his two companions turned out.
So, please enjoy the remaining pictures and feel free to comment if you want to. Thanks for looking!

A New Year, A New Hope.
Wow, we are now in 2013. How did we get here? 2012 seems like much of a blur now and boy, was it a biggun as well.
I have seen a lot of comments and other blog posts about how the 40k universe has evolved over the last year so I am not going to touch too much on that, other than to say the transition to 6th Edition has been very smooth and very enjoyable, and that the Chaos Space Marine Codex is, in my opinion, a very well balanced book that offers so much I am still trying to figure it all out.
From a personal perspective I was pleased with being able to keep up with the painting of my models, all of which can be found here. Normally I will give up the brush for a few months each year, but keeping the progress going on four different armies seems to have stopped any sort of boredom creeping in. Coupled with this was also my little excursions into painting Astorath the Grim and the Chaplain-Interrogator Seraphicus, both of whom I am very pleased with.
I am also happy seeing this blog grow and grow each month and I am really looking forward to seeing if I can get it to expand any further through this year, so a big thank you to all of you who have spared this blog some time over the year, it is very much appreciated!
On the gaming front I want to get more and more games in and one day this year, I swear to the gods, I will get a Logan-wing army to work and not have all my terminators fall to the stiff breeze that blows through the 40k universe.
From a hobby perspective I am going to aim to follow Tim for WarLlama40k and have my main target for the year as being - paint more than I buy! I have pretty much all the models I want, for the moment, in all my armies so there is really no excuse now for not putting paint on as much as possible. Of course, all models I do finish will be put up on here for everyone to see and for me to keep track of my own progress.
So, two simple resolutions for me - Paint more models than I buy and carry on gaming. What could be simpler hey? We'll have to see how it all goes.
I am also looking forward this year to putting something in the UK Golden Demon. I know its still 9 months away, but I love planning every little detail of anything well in advance and will be starting to look into this in greater detail in the coming months. If anyone has any hints, tips or encouragement they can throw at me (literally if needs be) then please do, I'd be very grateful!
Also coming up on the blog I have been thinking over a couple of ideas for regular articles that should be kicking off this month and I should be starting off a large campaign with a friend in the next month or so, which I am hoping will be as epic as the Space Wolves v Eldar campaign we had last year.
If you have read all that, well done. Thanks for reading and hope you keep coming back through 2013!

Trollbloods Dire Troll Bomber
Here we are in a new year and here is the last model I started before the turn of the year, finished off today.
Another model I really enjoyed painting, just had to keep going back and adding bits in, and he only took a few days to complete! Normally on the bigger models (tanks/dreadnoughts etc) I really struggle to want to get them complete, but this guy I could not leave until he was complete.
So, without further ado, here are the remaining pictures of the Troll -
Final question now - have I put the flame for the lit barrel on at an odd angle? Thanks for looking!

Chaos Warpsmith Complete
Happy new year to you all, hope you all had a great time doing whatever you did!
My first post of 2013 is actually the last model I finished off in 2012 - the Chaos Space Marines Warpsmith.
I really like this model and wanted to keep him relatively simplistic with just a few splashes of colour to fit him in with the other units in my Emperor's Children force, which hopefully you will be able to see when looking through the photos.
The only issue I had with this Finecast model is the axe - no matter how much I heated it and tried to bend it back straight, it always leaned to one side and that is where it will now be staying.
Anyway, here are the rest of the pictures I have taken, hope you enjoy them and hope you have a great 2013 -
