Firstly I would like to start this post by apologising for the Dad joke in the title. I don't know, I am sorry. I shall control the urges to use poor pun titles in the future... if I can.
Anyway, these guys are unarmed as they are all magnetised, which will allow this to be my most flexible unit if I ever get truly stuck with WYSIWYG. At the last count I have 18 left arms, 18 right arms and 1 cyclone missile launcher. Combinations-a-plenty there.
Outside of the magnetisation (which I did two years ago, even before I started this blog) they are just your standard terminators. It is good to finally see them with some colour on.
Now to get painting those arms so we can see what these guys look like all tooled up! Till next time, take care folks!

Come Here to Win a Lictor
Those of you with a good memory may remember the competition I ran on this blog for one lucky person to receive this Tyranid Lictor. Unfortunately the person who won failed to claim their prize so I still have him to give away!
With that good news here is the deal - to win this guy all I need is a comment on this post and for you all entering to keep an eye out around the end of June for the announcement of the winner then, after exchanging a couple of emails, the Lictor will be sent off to one lucky person.
So, get typing out a comment if you want the bug and good luck to all those who enter!

2 Years Old.
Just a quick post today to mark the second anniversary of the beginning of Travelling the Immaterium. It is amazing how time flies when you are having fun!
A lot has changed both in the 40k world and in my real life. I am looking to get some more gaming-based posts up, especially as I will soon be getting some good experience with not just Chaos Space Marines and Daemons, but also Tau and Eldar. All these new codices and so far, so good. They all seem relatively balanced and, more importantly, are being pretty fun to play with and against.
But what of the future of the Immaterium? I am very hopeful of carrying on for a while yet, showing everyone who reads the blog each model I get painted as it is completed. As I have said above, I would love to start writing some posts based around the gaming side of things.
I also still have the Tyranid Lictor prize from the competition I ran a few months back. Apparently I can't even give him away. He is free to a home that wants him, so please speak up if you fancy it.
To finish this off then, I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has read the blog over the last couple of years and I hope you come back to the blog again in the future!

Eye Spy With my Little... Sniper Scope?
Five more Space Wolves complete and this time it is a unit that I quite enjoy using on the table top - Sniper Scouts.
I decided not to heavily 'wolf' up these guys and instead have added a little bit of fur to the top part of their cloaks.
I have two other sniper scouts that I painted years ago that will join this squad and as such have kept the colour schemes largely similar so they will look like a squad when used together,
Enjoy the rest of the photos and hopefully I will be back with another post over the weekend as this blog reaches the grand old age of 2! Thanks for looking!

If I Had a Hammer...
I swear to you all, one day I will post about something other than whichever model I have just finished painting. But today is not that day, for today is the day of a post about the Iron Priest I have just finished off to accompany my Space Wolves.
I must admit, I have never used an Iron Priest in any list I have written in the last four years. I can't really see how I could use him well as a foot slogger with only servitors and cyber-wolves for company.
Now I have a painted model for him I may have to revisit that thinking. If my younger self could see a use for him, hopefully 18 years of extra age will not dent that optimism.
Anyway, while I ponder exactly how to use this fella in a fearsome Space Wolves list, I will leave you all to have a look over the few other pictures I took of him. Thanks for looking!

Terminators Are Back... A Few Completed Wolf Guard
Everybody loves terminators don't they? Well here you are, have a few more. A simple squad of Wolf Guard terminators completed and added to the rest of my Space Wolves!
This is a very basic load out for a squad - 4 x storm bolters, 1 x combi-melta, 3 x powerfists, 1 x power sword and 1 x chainfist.
There isn't really much more you can say about a bunch of Wolf Guard terminators is there?
Another happily completed squad, with more pictures below.
Thanks for looking and I should be back over the weekend with a look at my completed Iron Priest. Work on (finally) completing all my Space Wolves is beginning to take shape now, I hope I don't get too distracted with some Chaos Daemons before that happens!

On the Painting Table... May
It's a bank holiday here in the UK and what better way to spend it than clearing out the man-cave and settling down with one solitary aim?
This solitary aim is to finally complete my Space Wolves. The last few guys have been hanging around for the last year waiting for some paint, so now they will get the colour they crave.
I must confess to being a little ahead of what I have shown in this post, with the Wolf Guard above being about 40% already and taking shape nicely.
Aside from the those Wolf Guard Terminators above I have left to paint an Iron Priest, a Grey Hunter Standard Bearer, another 4 Wolf Guard Terminators with magnetised arms and a 5 man squad of sniper scouts and a missile launcher.
With that last squad I may have a little bit of green stuff work to carry out - I am thinking of adding a little fur to the tops of their cloaks just to 'wolf' them up a little bit.
So there we are, it's a Space Wolf based start to the summer in the Immaterium, but one that should see my Wolves finally completed, 4 years after I began working on them. Their beginning pre-dates my wedding. Crazy stuff.
Of course, all this painting lark will also be interspersed with a few games of 40k. It's been a long time since I was on the winning side so I am definitely aiming to win at least one battle this month.
In a positive note on that front, I recently had an impressive draw with my Chaos Marines against Eldar. One more turn my have won it for me, but may also have seen my luck with the dice crumble. Very interesting to see the carnage that blastmasters and sonic blasters can do to Eldar who try hiding in cover.
As always, I will add pictures to the blog as I complete units and sometimes will update the 'On the Painting Table' page with some work in progress shots. The blog also turns two this month so that is something else to look forward to. Hopefully should be an exciting month!
