Keeper of Secrets Progress

The updates on the blog have pretty much disappeared through August, so I am going to make every effort of the next couple of months to keep the updates flowing, starting with this quick update on the Keeper of Secrets I was starting to put together.

Following some suggestions on the blog, I have clipped off the little claws of the tail section and that is, unfortunately, as far as I have gotten with the Daemon. Next up is fixing on his arms/head - arms from the Daemon Prince box and the head from the original Keeper of Secrets.

I have also included a couple of pictures of the KoS that I am building next to the current model for the Greater Daemon, and then a shot of both next to a Daemon Prince - who'd have thought a Daemon Prince and the Greater Daemon of Slaanesh would be identical in height?

As always, all comments very much appreciated and all suggestions welcome. Thanks for looking!

Build-Your-Own Chaos Daemons

Monstrous creatures need to huge, terrifying and, well, monstrous. With that particular design brief in my mind I set out to create something so horrendous it could only have come from the Warp. This my friends, is the beginning of my vision for what a Keeper of Secrets, the Greater Daemon of Slaanesh, may indeed look like.

Once the model is made I will show you how it compares in size to the current Keeper of Secrets (available from all good Games Workshop stores). To give you an idea though, the current model reaches up to as high as this guys waist.

The first picture here shows the model in the early stages before I went a bit crazy adding on several claws.

Once all the arms have been added on (two more pairs on the main body, one arm holding a sword and three arms with open hands) all that is left is fixing a head to the monster.

The head in question is one left over from the Keeper of Secrets box. I am a little unsure as to whether it is a little bit too small, given the size of the body, or whether it will actually look ok. I am tempted to just put it all together and see what the end result is before making any decision.

I am also starting to question whether this demi-god of the Chaos worlds really needs 6 pairs of arms. Or maybe he/she/it does?

As the other update for this post is the Herald of Slaanesh I have also built. In giving it a tail, it is supposed to represent it having a steed to ride in to battle so that it can join with my Seeker squad when necessary.

Pictures are below, thanks for looking and hope to see you dropping by again!

The Great Build of 2013

Keeper of Secrets
Since finishing the Space Wolves I have embarked on a massive quest to build/convert all the models I have so far collected for my Chaos Space Marines/Daemons armies.

I am pleased to see that I am now hitting the home straight, having put together 6 squads of Noise Marines, 1 squad of Thousand Sons, sorted out my Raptor squad, started on a TDA Chaos Lord and built a Keeper of Secrets.

I will be splitting the completed photos across a few posts, as there are plenty of them to go around! And once the construction is complete, then I have a hell of a lot of painting to be getting on with. Still, fully painted armies are worth it, aren't they?

Enjoy the photos and comment freely! Thanks for looking.

Some Lovely Ladies... Daemonettes of Slaanesh.

After almost an entire month of losing the motivation to carry on painting my models I think I am finally getting back in to the groove now!

Here are the Daemonettes of Slaanesh that I finished of over the weekend, the very beginnings of a little band of Chaos Daemons that will come together to help out my Chaos Marines every once in a while!

Joining these ladies, eventually (as we all know how slowly I get round to things), will be some Seekers, a Keeper of Secrets, a Herald and a couple of Chariots. Should be enough support for the Marines.

Anyway, please enjoy the remaining photos and I will be back very shortly on the plans for the next month or so.

Thanks for looking, hope you visit again!

Chaos Damonette of Slaanesh Test Model

Last night I completed a test model for a squad of Daemonettes I plan on using alongside my Chaos Space Marine force, so here are a few pics to see if anyone has nay tips I can use to improve before I start on the remaining 9.

Relatively simple paint scheme so far, really quick to get her fully completed. Maybe I should ditch everything else and just get a fully painted Daemon army in no time at all?

Thanks for looking, enjoy the remaining pictures!

Current State of the Army... Chaos

As a marker for the future, I wanted to put up a picture of the completed models I have for my 40k armies of Chaos, Space Wolves and Dark Eldar.

This post looks at what I have completed, up to December 2012, of my Chaos Space Marines. Hopefully by this time next year, as well as having more Marines complete, there will be more of a daemon presence within this fledgling Emperor's Children force.

Currently complete we have Lucius the Eternal, Lord, Sorcerer, Daemon Prince, Helbrute and a Defiler. I am looking forward to completing a lot more of this army during 2013.
